Preaching to Your Own Soul

 July 30, 2026 | Day 211

Title:

Stop Agreeing With Every Fear

2Cor. 10:5

Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (NKJV)

The Insight:

Every day, thoughts knock on the door of your mind.

Not every thought deserves to be welcomed.

Some arrive carrying fear, shame, and hopelessness, asking for permission to stay.

Paul teaches us to "take every thought captive."

Notice he doesn't say every thought comes from God.

Some thoughts exaggerate problems.

Some question God's goodness.

Some predict failure before you've even begun.

Preaching to your soul means refusing to let fear become your inner narrator.

How often have you worried about something that never happened?

Fear is skilled at creating imaginary disasters.

Faith doesn't ignore reality but it refuses to let fear define it.

Your mind becomes stronger when God's truth becomes its gatekeeper.

Which recurring thought do I need to stop agreeing with today?

Not every thought deserves your agreement.

PRAYER:

Father, guard my mind from thoughts that pull me away from trusting You. Help me reject fear and embrace the truth of Your promises. Amen
