🧠 Title: Talk Back to Discouragement

📖 Scripture: Psalm 42:5 - Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance. (NKJV)

Discouragement has a voice.

It whispers, "Nothing is changing."

"God has forgotten you."

"Give up."

The question is: Do you simply listen, or do you answer?

💡 LIGHTDROP INSIGHT:

David asked himself,

"Why, my soul, are you downcast? Put your hope in God."

He didn't ignore his emotions, but neither did he surrender to them.

He challenged his despair with truth.

Faith is not pretending you don't feel discouraged. It is refusing to let discouragement have the final word.

Negative thoughts often repeat themselves until we begin believing them.

But God's truth must also be repeated.

What you repeatedly tell your soul will eventually shape how you live.

⚖️ CORE SHIFT:

Don't just listen to yourself.

Learn to speak God's truth back to yourself.

🕯 REFLECTION:

Whose voice has influenced my thinking more this week; my fears or God's promises?

🙏 PRAYER:

Lord, when discouragement speaks, help me answer it with Your truth. 

Let hope become louder than every lie fear tries to tell me. Amen
