GO FORWARD WITH YOUR HEAD LIFTED

Phil. 3:13-14 (NKJV)
13 - Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 - I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

---

Some people spend their lives looking backward.

Backward at missed opportunities.

Backward at painful memories.

Backward at failures they wish they could undo.

Backward at seasons they wish had never happened.

The problem with constantly looking back is that you eventually lose sight of where God is leading you.

You cannot fully embrace tomorrow while clinging to yesterday.

Paul's words in Philippians are remarkable.

He wasn't pretending his past didn't exist.

He remembered it well.

He remembered persecuting the Church.

He remembered his failures.

He remembered his victories too.

Yet he understood a powerful truth:

Your past is a reference point, not a residence.

He says,

"Forgetting those things which are behind..."

Biblical forgetting is not losing your memory.

It is refusing to let yesterday control today's obedience.

Some people are trapped by past failures.

Others are trapped by past successes.

Both can prevent you from moving forward.

The God who lifts your head never does so merely to help you admire yesterday's victories.

He lifts your head so you can see tomorrow's assignment.

Every season has prepared you for the next one.

Every lesson has shaped you.

Every trial has strengthened you.

Every act of God's faithfulness has equipped you to walk into the future with confidence.

The God who lifted you this month will walk with you into the next.

Tomorrow begins a new month.

New opportunities.

New decisions.

New challenges.

New mercies.

Some of you will enter it carrying dreams that are bigger than your resources.

Others will enter it still waiting for prayers to be answered.

Some will begin with excitement.

Others with uncertainty.

Wherever you find yourself, remember this:

You are not entering the future alone.

The same God who sustained you yesterday has already gone before you tomorrow.

Walk into the new season, not with fear, but with faith.

Not with regret, but with expectation.

Not with a bowed head, but with a lifted one.

Living with a lifted head means you no longer allow your past to dictate your future.

You don't deny where you've been.

You simply refuse to let it determine where you're going.

Your confidence is no longer rooted in your own strength.

It is rooted in the faithfulness of God.

The journey continues, but now you walk differently.

With greater hope.

Greater wisdom.

Greater gratitude.

Greater trust.

The One who began this work in you will remain faithful to complete it.

As I step into a new month, what do I need to leave behind so I can fully embrace everything God has prepared ahead of me?

Father, thank You for walking with me throughout this month. Thank You for every lesson You taught me, every burden You carried, every tear You noticed, and every time You lifted my head when I wanted to give up. As I step into a new month, help me leave behind every fear, every regret, every disappointment, and every burden You never intended me to carry. Fill me with fresh faith, renewed strength, and unwavering hope. Let me walk boldly into every opportunity You have prepared, knowing that You go before me and remain beside me. May my life continue to reflect Your goodness, Your grace, and Your glory. In Jesus' name. Amen

The God who lifted your head yesterday is already waiting for you in tomorrow. Walk forward with confidence, hope, worship, and purpose. Your best response to His faithfulness is to keep following Him.

Read. Reflect.

Share the light.

That's how we grow together.
