Today’s Light:
DON’T FORGET WHO BROUGHT YOU THIS FAR

Psalm 103:1–5 (NKJV)
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:”

–––

Waiting makes it easy to see what’s missing:

The unanswered prayer. The unfinished battle. The door still closed. The breakthrough still ahead.

But while waiting for what God has yet to do, we can forget what He has already done.

WHAT IF YOUR NEXT PRAISE BEGINS WITH YOUR LAST TESTIMONY?

David speaks to his own soul: “Forget not all His benefits.”

He had to tell himself to remember. Pain is loud; faithfulness is easy to overlook.

So David names what God has done: forgiveness, healing, redemption, mercy, lovingkindness, satisfaction, renewed strength.

Gratitude is more than saying “Thank You.” It is choosing to remember the evidence of God’s faithfulness.

Hardship pulls our attention toward what’s missing. Look again.

You have survived what you thought would destroy you. You have received help you couldn’t explain, seen doors open, and found strength when yours was gone.

YOU ARE STILL HERE.

Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is stop asking for a moment and remember.

HERE IS THE SHIFT:

FROM: “God, look at everything I still need.”

TO: “God, help me remember everything You have done.”

Gratitude doesn’t mean the battle is over. It means the battle hasn’t erased your memory of God’s goodness.

CARRY THE LIGHT:

Gratitude, Not Comfort

Before you bring God another request today, pause and remember:

• What has He brought you through?
• What has He provided or protected you from?
• How has He changed you?

TODAY, I WILL
Name five things God has done for me, and thank Him specifically for each one.

Father, today I choose to remember.
Thank You for keeping and sustaining me. Thank You for forgiving me and fighting battles I saw and battles I never knew about.
Thank You for answered prayers, closed doors, provision, protection, and the chance to begin again.
As I wait for what lies ahead, I will not forget what You have already done.
My soul, bless the Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Before you name what’s missing, remember what God has already given.
