GOD WILL FIGHT WHAT FIGHTS YOU
October 16, 2026 | Day 289
Focus: Learning to trust God's power and protection when you become the target of attacks, opposition, and circumstances threatening your peace, progress, or purpose.
- 13 - Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him."
- 14 - When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt,
- 15 - and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I called My Son."

Why do we sometimes feel ashamed of walking away?
We remain in unhealthy situations because we want to prove we are strong. We continue unnecessary arguments because we do not want to appear weak. We tolerate destructive environments because leaving feels like admitting defeat.
But what if staying is not courage? What if leaving is the wiser decision?
In Matthew 2:13, Joseph was warned in a dream to take the young child and His mother and flee to Egypt because Herod intended to destroy Jesus.
Joseph obeyed.
He did not remain in Bethlehem to prove his faith. He did not interpret escape as cowardice. He took the necessary action to protect the child entrusted to him.
Consider the lesson: God's protection does not always mean remaining in the place of danger; sometimes, it means receiving the wisdom to leave.
Isaiah 49:25 speaks of the prey being delivered. Deliverance is not limited to winning a confrontation. It can also mean escaping the reach of what intends to harm you.
Not every situation should be abandoned, and not every difficulty is a signal to leave. But where danger, abuse, or destructive patterns are present, wisdom may require boundaries, distance, and appropriate support.
You may need to leave a compromising arrangement, step away from a relationship that repeatedly harms you, exit a dangerous environment, or stop participating in a conflict that is destroying your peace.
Perhaps you need to walk away from a business deal that demands dishonesty or refuse an opportunity that would cost you your integrity.
Do not allow the fear of what people will say to keep you trapped in what wisdom is telling you to leave.
HERE IS THE SHIFT:
Courage is not measured by how long you endure unnecessary danger. Sometimes, courage is the willingness to make a difficult decision before the damage becomes worse.
CARRY THE LIGHT:
Is there a situation you continue to tolerate because you fear being judged for walking away?
"Sometimes, the evidence of God's deliverance is not that you defeated the danger, but that you escaped it."
