OCTOBER 26, 2026 | DAY 299
–––
Have you ever been afraid of something that has not happened yet, and allowed that fear to affect decisions you must make today?
A parent fears that a child will make the wrong choices. A business owner fears losing everything. Someone who has survived a painful experience fears that the same thing will happen again.
Sometimes, the event has not happened, but fear has already changed how we live.
God says in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God.”
God does not tell His people to reject fear because life contains no danger. He tells them not to surrender to fear because His presence is greater than their uncertainty.
Notice the progression: “I am with you,” “I am your God,” “I will strengthen you,” and “I will help you.”
The promise is not that you will never encounter trouble. It is that you do not have to face trouble as though you have been abandoned.
When God says, “I will help you,” He redirects your attention from the size of the challenge to the sufficiency of His help.
Fear can make a parent control a child instead of guiding them. It can make a leader avoid necessary decisions or make someone abandon a promising opportunity because failure seems possible.
You may even carry yesterday's pain into tomorrow's relationships, suspecting everyone because someone once betrayed you.
Wisdom requires preparation, boundaries, and responsible action. But fear should not become the voice that governs every decision.
Pray for your children, teach them what is right, correct them when necessary, and trust God as you fulfil your responsibility.
HERE IS THE SHIFT:
Faith does not mean ignoring danger. It means refusing to let uncertainty become your master.
CARRY THE LIGHT:
What decision have you delayed, or what person have you tried to control, because fear has convinced you that God cannot be trusted with the outcome?
Father, I surrender the fears I carry about my future and the future of those I love. Strengthen me where I feel weak, guide me where I lack wisdom, and help me distinguish between responsible caution and paralyzing fear. Teach me to lead my family with faith rather than anxiety. Let Your presence shape my decisions. In Jesus' name, Amen.
“You cannot control every possibility, but you can refuse to let fear control your response.”
