RESIST BEFORE YOU RETREAT

GOD WILL FIGHT WHAT FIGHTS YOU

Focus: When something has a stronger hold on you than you have on it, remember: God is still powerful enough to break its grip.

Today’s Light:
RESIST BEFORE YOU RETREAT

James 4:7 (NKJV)
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

–––

Not every battle is won by getting away. Some are won by standing firm.

And some things keep finding their way back into your life because you have never learned to resist them.

You pray about the temptation, but keep feeding it.
You ask for freedom, but keep reopening the same door.

Prayer matters. But sometimes the answer to your prayer is the next choice you make.

James gives us the order: submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee.

Resistance begins with submission. You don’t overcome spiritual opposition by relying on willpower alone. You place yourself under God’s authority, then refuse to cooperate with what is pulling you away from Him.

The enemy may be present. That does not mean he has won.

Sometimes resistance is practical: deleting the number, leaving the environment, ending the conversation, changing the habit, refusing the compromise. Sometimes it means walking away from what keeps drawing you backward.

You cannot keep negotiating with what God has told you to resist.

HERE IS THE SHIFT:

FROM: “I hope this temptation goes away.”
TO: “I will resist what God has called me to reject.”

Faith is not passive. It trusts God and takes the next obedient step.

Sometimes the beginning of breakthrough is not a door opening. It’s the door you decide to stop opening.

CARRY THE LIGHT:

What are you repeatedly asking God to remove while still giving it access?

TODAY, I WILL
Close one door that keeps giving my struggle access.

Father, help me submit fully to You. Give me discernment to recognize what I must resist, and courage to resist it. Break the patterns that keep pulling me away from Your will. Give me grace not only to pray for freedom, but to walk in obedience. Amen.

You cannot keep feeding what you are praying to defeat.
