Focus: Trusting God to intervene in battles beyond our strength, and answering with faith, wisdom, and obedience.
OCTOBER 23, 2026 | DAY 296
---
What if the breakthrough you’re praying for begins with an instruction that makes little sense?
You want the door to open. The instruction seems strange. You want progress. The process feels slow. You expect a bold move; the next step looks small or foolish.
Sometimes the struggle isn’t believing God can act. It’s trusting Him enough to follow His direction without seeing the whole plan.
Jericho was fortified. God gave Joshua a specific strategy: march, carry the trumpets, and shout at the appointed time. It wasn’t a formula for every obstacle. It was an instruction for that moment.
Israel’s victory didn’t come from military ingenuity alone. The people obeyed; God brought the walls down. Their obedience didn’t control the outcome, it answered God’s word.
Faith isn’t inventing a plan and asking God to bless it. It means seeking His direction and responding with obedience.
Maybe you’re praying for growth while neglecting a discipline that would strengthen your work. Maybe you want restored relationships but avoid an honest conversation. Maybe you’re asking to move forward in ministry while postponing the preparation it requires.
Not every obstacle falls in a dramatic moment. Sometimes progress begins with consistency, humility, correction, and the next right thing.
Don’t copy Israel’s military instruction as a method for every problem. Seek biblical wisdom, sound counsel, and guidance for your situation.
HERE IS THE SHIFT:
Obedience doesn’t guarantee the outcome you expect. It shapes your response around what you understand to be right before God.
CARRY THE LIGHT:
What necessary step have you postponed because it seems too small, too difficult, or unlike the breakthrough you imagined?
Father, help me recognise Your direction and obey. Keep me from insisting on understanding everything before I act. Give me wisdom to distinguish Your guidance from my assumptions, and courage to take the next right step. Teach me to rely on Your power, not on methods alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
"You may not see the whole route. Take the next faithful step."
